sawtek saw 1.5ghz

hi,
can somebody assess me on the typical and minimum insertion loss and selectivity of bandpass RF filters made on SAW technology?
The frequency of interest is L band, close to GPS (1.5GHz more or less), and the bandwidth is about 20MHz

Hi dowjones,

SAW filters differs extremly from each other, depending on the application
they are thougt to use in.
So the insertion loss is normaly in the range -3dB .. -5dB but there also
exists SAW's with -15dB insertion loss or more at the center frequency.

The selectivity in your frequency range would be about:
-20dBc 100MHz spaced away
-30dBc 400MHz spaced away

You will maximally reach about -40dBc. For further info look at the data-
sheets from some manufacturers of SAW's like Murata, Triquint or Sanyo

Greets

and Sawtek... but very expensive.

oh,i agree with mr_ghz very much.you know, saw filter is called customer device,so you must give the specification
to the designer,for example,bandwidth,insertion loss,vsws,balanced or sigle end in/output....
the epcos and thomson are very good and big saw filter supplyer.

Maybe u can try to DR filter.
It's a good insertion loss and hi-Q.
TOKO company u can link by web.
I think DR filter good enough for GPS receiver.

Fujitsu, i recommand.

RF SAW filters

do you know the fixed components about GPS SAW bandpass filter? or you can tell me its type or name.

RF SAW filters

The SAW' insertion loss is nomally more than drfilter.
