cable tv is multistandard for now
really it depends what country your in {tv system}


every cable network uses its own standards {they supply the decoder etc}

so.. be more specific

like i want to research cable tv in france etc...

well none are the same

they all use there own countrys tv standards
and wrap them up in there own cable systems language

so it depends what company and whats systems they employ

dont make the mistake to think that all tv cable systems are the "same"

this is rubbish your talking for sure

think again

the best thing to do is study the company first not its systems

forinstance some providers like sky

use a levelised security
that only supplies a decoder with a decoding algurithm
if its bonified to that level

so if a hacker breaks in and they get a sniff of it
a new level is adopted by cascade
and a new encoder and decoder maths systems
{as this is all that exists past a carrier} is used
this can also be randomly employed
i think you know nothing and are scratching the sand for sure

i will only say this once
a stupid provider is one who published details of there own systems
for others to infiltrate
a book about cable tv LOL
go read his book >???? why ask ???
ill guarantee by the time you read it the system will change
its all about money and making it not about divulging secrets
as cable tv companies and there maybe several in one country becouse of monopoly rules will keep there cards close to there chest
dont think for one min that a compeditor wont issue details
or a flaw in another providers system to common knowlage
that others can exploit
to undermine there compeditors even countrys do this
its called a data war
so its better you dont ask without feer for your life and family in mind

But I'm sure I've seen aTv book in our university I think br Grob. and there was a chapter about catv.But now we r in vacation and I can't access it(oskol)

cable tv is a cable from a source to a tv

you forget the decoder as ive explained there are lots of different sub system decoders
and most have a set of embeded algurithms and a cable providers signal will only update a box that has a certain system of maths + a smart card
the smart card can have several micros and also it recieves other algurithms from the provider
all before it decodes squat
your book youve seen is old hat
for sure
forget cable tv unless you want to hack it
then listen to the golden rule
never shit on your own doorstep comes into play
if you want to learn cable stuff
go to uni study general stuff
work for a company and they will train you in what they use
and thats it
security is just that
