Can I replace the old NiCAD battery in cordless phone with the new NiMH battery?
it is not easy to find a good NiCAD battery nowadays.

You can if the charger of your device is designed to work with NiMH batteries,
the other solution is to use the NiMH batteries and when they need charging use an external NiMH charger.

If the the batteries are AA, look around at the radio control market example Overlander Batteries.

With more people moving to electic power RC aircraft etc, there are some very good supplies and a few still supply sanyo NiCad's.

If you are serously looking at NiMH, take a look at the eneloop battery instead.
