replace my UPS 1.2 V/40 Ah battery with a 12 V/50Ah battery

it posible to replace UPS 1.2 V/40 Ah battery 40PCS to get 48VDC/40AH with a 4 PCS 12 V/50Ah battery with keep the same charger

mainly depends on chemistry.

but also on other things like chargeing mode, charge balancing...

A Li-Ion needs a different charging scheme than a Pb battery.
