Hi,

I am having problem in understanding "set_critical_range" in design compiler.

My interpretation is that whatever value and path group we provide with this command, design compiler will try to optimize that path with slack of the specified value with this command.

Is this interpretation is correct?

Regards & Thanks,

Yes, dc_compiler will focus on paths that are at the critical range value or less. The weight option is also used to provide priority.

No, that's not correct. it works on the paths within the range from the current worst path.
Read the DC user manual. It explains in very plain and simple way.
