Hi , I have designed an oscillator with 2.4G oscillation frequency. I am new to the phase noise simulation in SPectre. I followed the pss and pnoise set to simulate phase noise, it gives me error when running pss, complaining something like "arithmetic exception error". Can i know why?? I have tried by changing tstab value, but still has this error.
can u plz send me the stuff which describes troubleshooting in PSS analysis, because i was stuck in that only , it may be convergence problem. do u know how to solve it? hv u faced this type of "arritmetic exception" problem.
I think you have asked this question in another topic before. Hope this will help. "Before you run the PSS, maybe you would like to run a transient analysis to check how long does it take for your oscillator to start oscillating. From this, you can key in the tstab. If the same problem occured, maybe you should change the tolerance options under simulator options to a finer resolution. This may help in your convergence issue."
I seen most of u guys are facing problem in performing PSS and phase noise analysis.here i uploaded a file .how to perform PSS and phase noise anylsis using cadence tools. please follow those steps.
Best Of Luck
a simple question for expert people.. I see you r worried to have an efficient analysis of your oscillator.. Then I suppose you are going to compare the results of your analysis with your specification requirements..
The question is: what are the major system considerations leading to the determination of the specification mask for the phase noise of your oscillator? What's the phisical meaning of a requested envelope?
I'm quite new on this topic (my interest is on planar antennas) and I request your support.
Hope you find this consideration interesting and you can share with yours with me in a fruitful discussion.
