Hi All,

I am building a circuit using MOC7811 which gives me a rising edge and a falling edge using standard procedure(i.e. MOC7811 is opto detector). I am using the attached circuit.

But the problem is that I am not able to get the proper voltage at the output when I connect it to microcontroller[i.e. I am getting 1.8 V instead of 5V]. When the output is not connected to Microcontroller and voltage is measured at the output using multimeter, it works fine.

Please suggest any changes to be done in this basic circuit to get a proper voltage(i.e atleast 4V).

Thank you.

Hi
sorry for my english.
I don't understand that you said when you connect micro to circuit , voltage will be fall in 1.8v
Please clear me , when opto led was off then transistor is off , hence we don't have any current in resistor and vout will be 5 v
perhaps your micro was damage and sink your current then voltage fall in 1.8 v or your opto is on
may you decries resistor 10k to 2.2k and test it , if it happen for current leak by mico
