Gentlemen,

I was wondering if redhat 7 (7.2) will run ok on a 64 bit dual core pentium machine. Has anyone had any problems? I think Redhat 7.2 is the best when it comes to synopsys and cadence tools.

Why do the EDA toold give problems on AMD machines?

Added after 7 minutes:

I mainly want to run synopsys core synthesis and primetime, both are 32 bit softwares, on the dual core 64 bit pentium machine

You might as well install it on the machine and give it a try. :)
If the machine can run Red Hat 7.2 then you can run DC and PT. But these tools will run in 32-bit mode of course.
