Do slow standard rectifiers provide any protection when they are series to a load that can make a high voltage transient that would be under the reverse breakdown rating of the diode but at high frequency?

This kind of arrangement.

Hi,

my answer is: No.

Btw: for the simulation... the "Transient Spike" should be in series to the "Supply", not in parallel.

The transient in the diagram is parallel but I meant series transients.

Only MOVs, TVS diodes or series high voltage schottkies protect the nmos?
