hi sir, how can i convert a real number into floating point (single precision) in vhdl.... can you please help me.... thank you......

You mean conversion of real constants to IEEE-754 single precision? The IEEE proposed float_pkg_c.vhdl contains a
to_float() function for this purpose. See

hi sir, i have tried that... i am using xilinx 9.2i ise , it did not support . i want to convert a real number say 2.035 or -1.67 to single precision floating point . can u please help me.... thank you.....
