Hi, I wish to convert inductance value to its equivalent length of microstrip line with a given substrate height and dielectric permittivity, any closed form expression?

Values are:

Inductance Value: 0.87nH
Substrate height: 0.35mm

Hi,

1) series inductance

2) parallel inductance

L = (Zl * l/vf) = (Zl * l *√εef)/c

for Zl>>Zv, l <<λg

If load is close to zero then inductance≈j$Z_o$tanβl. Otherwise better to use a simulator.

In principle inductances can be approximated by high impedance transmission line but its is only an approximation. The higher the line impedance the better the approximation.

BUT

High impedance microstrip lines, which are thin, can be lossy and are not capable of handling high power. So its often worth considering if there are other possibilities.
