Questions on bluetooth adapter

I want to use an USB bluetooth adapter for my project, but I have some questions on it:

1. Can USB bluetooth adapter be controlled by a USB controller (8051-based)?

2. Can the firmware of USB bluetooth adapter be modified?

3. How to write a driver (I mean source code) to drive the adapter?

4. Where can I get more information on the above topic?
 

I'm sure that manufacturer of this adapter will be glad to provide you this kind of tech support.
