Hi

I'ld like to ask about the most used Vocoder in GSM networks
Dose it require dynamic or adaptive channel coding?
How is it being implemented? of the shelf IC or ASIC or SWover RISC or DSP?
What's the computetional power MIPS/FLOPS needed for it?

Re: GSM Vocoder Questions

In GSM Network, FER-13k is currently used vocoder. AMR is the new vocdoer with the adaptive channel coding. Check 3gpp website to find more information on FER, AMR.

GSM Vocoder Questions

most recent vocoder is RPE-LTP GSM6.10 with the data rate of 13kbps. can impliment in TI's DSP. LMS32060 series.

Re: GSM Vocoder Questions

Hi

As I understood the AMR requires adaptive channel encoding.
Dose the FDR 13 also required Adaptive channel encoding?
