question on x86 execution time.

dose x86 processor takes same time to compare two 8 bit numbers and two 32 bit numbers?
that is cmp instruction.

x86 is only a processor family name. 386 and above processors have 32 bit registers will perform the compare in one instruction cycle, independant of the operand size.
