question on oscilloscope feature

i saw the oscilloscope has a featue "2GSa/s".
what does it mean?
 

This is the sampling frequency: 2 Giga samples per second. The more samples per second, the higher frequency signals can be measured and displayed in the scope screen.

Remember that the maximum frequency you can view is your sampling rate divided by 2, for clarity divide by 4. Anything above that digitally and you'll get weird antialiasing effects, analog you'll get distortion.
