Hello, my hdd cannot be read by computer - there is a hw problem (there is probably a controller problem).
I have bought the same hdd and planning to switch electronics from new one to the old one.
Would this solve my problem ?

answer.

I was expecting a question... in a technical forum.

There are several different HDDs - as you can guess. With different hardwares and different security features.
And for sure it depends where the failure is located.

Can you plug disk into another system as secondary disk and read from it ?

Or is that irrelevant because you backup your system frequently and have your
data on backup ?
