I am a newbie in electronic design,
I am going to design a charging a battery(maybe lead acid) by a solar panel
As I know the voltage of solar may fluctuate
For the solar panel I used, the max. voltage is 16.8V
I planned to use a step up converter to step up the voltage (because sometimes the voltage maybe too low) and then use a regulator to convert the voltage to a fixed one, let's say 12V and then charge the battery
Is my logic reasonable and correct?
Moreover, if I use a chip for step-up converter instead of the typical circuit, I found that the lowest input voltage is just about 1V, so what to do if the voltage of the solar panel is <1V?
Thanks
