Question about SAR ADC using attenuating cap

Dear all :

I am designing SAR ADC using attenuating capacitor, should the top plate of subDAC be discharged first ? thx.
 

No you dont need to discharge it. There are many designs we had done and left that plate
floating. All of them work. If you want to charge it , the load on thedriver is will be very high .
