Why an overmodulated AM signal is not possible to demodulate with envelope detector ?

as every AM signal hav two envelops, the upper positive and the lower negative, both the same.
for an overmodulated both of them get mixed making it difficult to demodulate using rectifier demodulator.

envelop detector should the signal be in postive
am signal always contains negative parts

You may know that the principle of envelop detector how it works, why it need the signal in positive not negative,in this way ,you may know what is your answer.

The upper and lower halfes of wave will be cut in envolope demodulator in case of overmodulated AM wave.
