PIC 16f876 & HD44780 LCD . i had changed my PIC 16f876A.IT will be compatible or not. i want to know is thereany difference between these two PIC.plz its urgent

16f876 possible projects

there is not many difference..

the only differeence is the 16f876a has better electronics..

In 16F876, port A conmtains ADC only where as in 16F876A, port A contains ADC & COMPARATORS. Program memory write is 1 byte on 16F876 and 4 bytes in 16F876A

migrating 16f876

Hi Vikas
There is a document which details the differences between these two chips. See:
https://ww1.microchip.com/downloads/en/DeviceDoc/39591a.pdf
From that doc:
Except for items listed in Table 1, PIC16F87XA is designed to be pin-to-pin, and functionally compatible with the
PIC16F87X product family. Table 1 shows the considerations that must be taken into account when migrating from the
PIC16F87X to the PIC16F87XA. Table 2 shows the electrical and timing differences.
Have a look at it, I think you will find it useful.
Regards,
Robert
