[question] is it possible to write a program to MCU using serial RS232 and UART

can i send the program that i'm writing for the PIC on to it using UART and rs232 from the PC?
 

anyway, i found that PIC has got bootlader. is there anything like that for the Freescale HCS08 MCU series?
