Hi,

I've seen many products in industrial environment using shielded RJ45 cables for communications such as Ethernet/CAN etc.

can anyone tell me the precise reasons for using shield earth in the same?Does the following has any thing to do with it?

1) protection against surge/EFT for data transfer
2) providing a ground reference between two communication modules
3) Improving Radiated Emissions performance

Thanks & Regards
