Pros and cons of MikroC Pro vs CSS

MikroC Pro or CSS?

Hi for All
first of all excuse me for my english.
I want to start work with PIC microcontroller. but i don't know which compiler is better and which is powerful. I think MikroC Pro is better because have best help and library but my friend say this compiler has a bug and not work correct.
Please Help Me

MikroC Pro or CSS?

I've used CCS for most of my projects and little to very few on MikroC.

Personally I'm quite comfortable with CCS, although it is not so well documented with help and libraries compared to MikroC, but one you get use to it would matter a lot.

And of course haven't encountered any bug so far!!

Hi,
According to me mikroC is more powerful. I found its code very efficient. It is very good at arithmetic operations and bit operations.
My vote goes for mikroC.
About being buggy, maybe the older versions, I've used the latest version: mikroC PRO for PIC v3.20. It is completely bug-free, or atleast I never encountered any bug.

Iv been working with on CCS compiler for while... and there are very useful functions you can use for advanced project. Some things are made is CCS really simple.

You can check CCS compiler web page, there you can find what you are looking for.

I have dowenload MikroC Pro & instal it . found some problom,when i pres :start debugger: [F9] .give msg. failed to start debugger -DGB file is misshing.

No, its not free. Above link is just demo version.

But the demo version has no library or other restrictions except that program output is limited to 2k program word.
If you want to buy it, I think it's cheaper than the other C compilers. $249

99% of people are using cracked softwares. And I don't think students and non-professionals are willing to buy genuine softwares.


use microchips free C compiler(Students edition).

There are cracked versions of mikroC available if you want it. I don't think it'll be too hard finding it.
But I like non-cracked stuff. So I just use the free version.
One more thing, in my opinion, mikroC is LEAGUES better than Microchip's C compiler. (This is just my opinion and I know there are hundreds of people who will also say Microchip's C compiler is better).
You should at least try it out once.
Anyway, 99% of the time I use mikroBASIC, not mikroC.

Hello I use Mikropascal and for me is the better.

I use too css and mikroc and like more mikroc.

The version pro of mikroe compiles in the best.

But i like more mikropascal pro

try CCS I have both the PCM and the PCH compilers for 16F and 18F series.

Personally I think CCS is better, but then thats my opinion.
