projects regarding electronics

I wanted to make a project regarding digital electronics,does anyone have any good ideas/suggestions/references for the project. My group length is 4 members
 

Is there anything else in your assignment? Any application area? Digital electronics sounds really vague.
Do you have to or can you use a microcontroller?
 

i think its better of taking digital communication as your project!!

as various processors for digital communication can be easily implemented using verilog and vhdl ! !!
