programming oscillators

Does anybody know how programmable oscillators (e.g. epson) can be programmed for a specific frquency and what hardware is involved?

Has anybody a schematic and/or the needed software?

I came across this programmable IC oscillator before.. comes in factory programmed format for 3 outputs using 1 crystal

Thanks for your reply but its different from what I mean.

Epson has oscillators in its programm which are being programmed by the distributor to the ordered frequency. It's even possible to buy a programmer to do it yourself. I'm interested to do it myself without buying the programmer

You could check the datasheet. I put a copy (31KB) in my folder in filemanager #2
