Program Using SST EasyIap boot strap loader

Hi all..
i am using SST89E516RD2 for one of my project.
when i try to program the DIP controller using SST EasyIAP boost strap loader software it gives me an error that "FAILED TO SETUP RS232 CONNECTION WITH TARGET MCU". but the same is easily programmed using flashmagic software.
But again when i use SMD package for the same, the controller is not programmed using EasyIAP or even with flashmagic.
I am using a TTL converter to program.
