Install buttons are not active in software center. When i select an application it says 'Not available in the current data'. I am using Ubuntu 9.10

Is all the dependencies are satisfied?
Is internet is connected?

Internet connection is fine. I can use the browser.
What is it with the dependency. I think Software Center is supposed to install all dependent package automatically. Is my Ubuntu version outdated.

Ubuntu version numbers are <last two digits of the year>.<month number> so yours is October 2009.
The latest version is 11.10 (October 2011) and the next release is expected in April this year so it will be 12.04

Brian.
