Problem with Samsung Mobiles

Hi,
I am facing a peculiar problem with my Samsung X100 cellphone.
For the past 1 week I have noticed a bulge in my cellphones battery.
The swelled portion is now making it difficult even to fit the battery in the slot.
Also it is discharging very rapidly.

What is the cause for the change in the physical dimension of the battery.

You have SERIOUS malfunction of the battery. It is a bit strange if it is original battery but those things do happen. Since it is Li-Ion battery it may even explode or catch fire in such cases. STOP USING IT IMMEDIATELY!!! Buy yourself new battery and dispose off the old one properly.
