Hi,

I am working on R8C/11 microcontroller for which i am writing an application for RTC PCF8583 using soft i2c.
Here when a data is written and read from the RAM locations it is done perfectly
But the settings for the clock to run is made then seconds, minutes and hours registers of RTC are read as FF and this is being continously done.

so how could i solve this problem.
any one please help me regarding this.

thank you

I doubt there are a problem with your I2C driver, Renesas has a good Application Note for R8C/10 Group A Software control of I2C-BUS using General-purpose Ports, did you use it?

not sure this will be useful but may be your example

It is a interfacing i2c RTC (ds1307) with 8051.
