Your question is vague and I am no specialist with a 2051, however there are several things to look for. Do you have a watchdog timer running? Are there interrupts being falsely triggered? Is your power supply stable? (Are you sure?) ((Are you absolutely certain that it is?))
Now the less easy part, the software. Look for any place that the program might have wandered. Look for nested loops that it may have become entangled in. Make sure that all the subroutines are only using the variables they're supposed to, and doing the right things.
