Iam doing a project for datalogging of some AC and DC parameters.
Using RS-232 comm.

MCP506(multiplexer) gives the multiplexed o/p to RMS-DC converter and then to A/D converter, and the corresponding count is displayed on pc.

But the settling time of rms to dc converter is more , because of which there are error in ac signal reading.

How can i rectify this problem.
Microcontroller used is AT89c52.
serial port communication is polling based.
if i increase the delay between reading of two signals, whether this will help, and whether this wld effect the rate for comm.
Plz help

More than what?

serial port communication is polling based
PC polling AT89c52?
What is your polling rate, and what is your Baudrate?

Re: rs232 comm

settling time of rms to dc converter is more than that of multiplexer.

Baud rate : 4800bits per second
polling rate:224ms

Re: rs232 comm

Hai,
Will u pls post ur Circuit or Block Diagram, may be helpful to understand ur problem
Thanks
