PROBLEM WITH R-R PEAK DETECTION

Hi all

i have found some MATLAB coding on how to find the R-R peak in MATLAB
and along with the matlab code, they also attach the .mat file

but when im looking back the data in the .mat file, the values if from the range of 2000 and above
im currently doing my final year project and im taking the ecg sample from the lab
but my ecg data is ranging from -0.07979(something negative value) up to 2

why this is happening ?
if this is the situation
can i applies the code to my ECG DATA?

plz help
