Hello everybody,

I have a really strange problem:
Whenever I try to print a design to PDF from OrCad the printer changes the reference numbers of the components.

This happened on two computers and with CutePDF and PDFCreator.

Does anybody has any ideas why this is happening and how can I fix this?

Thank in Advance,
Trout

try saving as a 'Postscript' file with 'print to file - *.ps filetype - before then converting to *.pdf

This is the method I use which hasn't failed so far!

hope this assists
Mik

Thanks, but unfortunately it failed for me... :)

What program do you use to convert it to postscript?
How do you convert it to PDF (with PDFCreator, or a different program?)

Thanks anyways,
Trout

Postscript to pdf conversion using Gimp. I'm not familiar with PDFCreator.
Mik

I seems like it isn't working yet...

Could you please explain the whole process:
How do I convert the schematic to postscript?
Do I import the file to Gimp and than save it as PDF?

Am I missing something?

Thanks,
Trout

Tink I may have covered this already, but:

Print your file to Postscript: in Printer options after selecting 'Print to File' and paper size.
Open the resulting *.ps file in Gimp and then 'Save as' *.pdf

If you are using M$ Software the method may be a bit different, however basically similar I think.

hope this assists

Mik

I don't have a problem with printing to PDF,
my problem is that the reference numbers (U1, U135, etc'...) change whenever I print it to PDF...

Also, as I wrote, I tried it with three different programs: PDFCreator, PDF995, and cutePDF (the program that was suggested in the thread you suggested)

Thanks anyway, but not really what I'm looking for :)
Did you ever encounter a problem like the one I described?

Thanks,
Trout
