problem with java virtual machine?

hi all

i am trying to install java virtual machine to install matlab 6.5

the problem is that every time i tried to setup it an error message said that "class not registered"

i tried the msjvmx86 but it said also that it cannot upgrade the version already exists

i am using windows xp ,i reformat my computer and every thing is the same

how can i solve that
