I am using p89v51rd2 microcontroller with 4 ir sensors for line tracing and 2 color sensors for red and blue color detection. I have used 1k load resistance for all the six sensors. But all the 4 ir sensors shows correct output when connected to controller but the two color sensors alone doesnt show correct output. When it is not connected to controller it shows 4.8V but once it is connected to microcontroller it shows 1.2V or less. Should i use higher load resistance for the color sensors alone?

my suggestion is not to take up this project if it is your final year projects as i have seen many people getting doomed.. and final year projects are to be completed by yourself and most of the forums cannot help or complete your project if hardware complexation comes in future....

what colour sensors are you using?? why you need 4 IR tracking line...
its clear that it is getting shorted as the voltage is dropping to 1.2v.. until you post your circuit we cannot just guess the problem...

I am using a comparator(LM-358) with 10k pot and a ldr and blue and red led. This is not my final year project.

then its ok, you will have enough time.... send the circuit to see and tell you the problem.. power and ground is getting shorted whrn you add extra component...

upload your schematics then I can discuss about it.

Hi friend

I think, you have to add pull up resister on all sensor signal.
Value of pull up resister is from 750E to 10kE, it depend on your circuit and sensor.

Hope this is help you
