Hi I have installed cygwin and Vim editor on my (WINXP) system , but
i am unable to invoke the vim editor from cygwin command prompt....

How to solve the problem?

path of vi in cygwin

try to activate the x-server first. By using "startx" command...

vi from cygwin

What's the error message when you type "vi" in the command prompt ? I think the path is not in you default searching path.
Find where vim is installed by using "whereis vim" or "locate vim". then use the absolute path to invoke vim. If this can work, you can add the path of vim to your default searching path.

vi from cygwin

I installed vim on my winXP computer also. Please make sure you have choosed vim in installation setup.
