triac problem

I have a simple trigger circuit for light dimer. Mi problem is for control transformer. The circuit have a high level of dc and heat the transformer.

Re: triac problem

You do not have symmetrical triggering in both half periods. Let's say in positive half period you trigger earlier than in negative half period. So you get DC component through transformer.

See this link

I found a lot of usefull information about triac in teccor website.

Best regards

Re: triac problem

I got a schematic for a thyristor but I use a triac insted and it is working very fine.
