Problem when installing Mandriva 2007 on a partition (the second one has Windows NT)

I have Mandriva 2007 free, I try to install it, but all time he send me this message,
I have 2 partions one with windows NT with partion NTFS on c, but my partion D is not formatted so I want to install linux on it. I need help.
here is the message sent by Mandriva when I begin: exited abnormally :- (sending termination signals...done sending kill signals ..done unmounting filesystems.../sysroot/tmp/media /sysroot you may safely reboot..

linux windows NT

Based on explanation its not clear where your installer is failing. Most probably it is not finding any free space on the hard disk (in fact it should not fail in this condition as well.)

Boot into windows NT and delete the D Partition (Make sure to take backup of your data), Once windows report this space as "unpartitioned space" try to install linux again.
