Since the reflector coefficient, Γ which shown in the VNA was in dB form. If I wanna look for the Zin by using the smith chart, I wonder is the Γ value is in normalize form or not. Can we directly apply the Γ in the smith chart to find the Zin?

Hi

It is NOT in normalised form.

Yes you can find the input impedance for small-signal.

Regards

if it's not in normalize form, then should we convert it into normalize form before we apply into the smith chart?

Hi

Yes that is correct

Reflector coefficient in dB. Are you referring to S11 ?
If so, you can change S11 to r (in Mag and Phase).

Given Mag and Phase of r, you should be able to plot in the smith chart and obtain the normalise Zin from the chart.

Push the FORMAT button on your VNA front panel and change to Smith Chart. It's the easy way. Nevertheless, try to study harder before using a VNA (it's a very expensive toy to play with)
