Sir, i hav writen a code to display msg in lcd in keil.it worked perfectly on proteus but when i tried it in hardware the lcd is not displaying anything but just the black square boxes..i hav made the port 0 as data port
And hav used a pul up resistor of 1k to each of the data line..all the conections are corect but stil nothing is being displayed..plz sugest me for this matter..

You have failed to mention which microcontroller you are using.

Is it an 8051 variant?

Have you used a 10KΩ Pot on the contrast control?

Typically, pullup resistors are not needed unless the port is an open collector.

Often, an improper initialization of the LCD is the source of the issues.
