I measure the resistance of the coil at around 240R which means it should have about 1A passing through it.
So, although the magnet wire in the coil is very fine, I would have thought that it could take 1A.
However when I connected the engine up to the mains (carefully), it blew the house fuse.
Is this likely to be due to the engine being damaged - it was a discarded microwave that I got it from - or am I missing something about powering AC engines?
