power amplifiers and classes of amplifier

i want to learn the classes of amplifier,i tried some books but i didnt get the basic concept.
can anyone help me to understand these classes with simple words that i explain this to my friend for sake of their understanding.

I want to recommend you this one which I used as my basic electronics course.
Introductory electronic devices and circuits by Robert T. Paynter
I has troubleshooting tips, practical examples too. Very very good for beginners.
