potyo2 ICD2, question about xtal

hi!

from schematics I know that the 20MHz crystal have to be connected to pic18f4550 (pin_13 and pin_14) and 2 22pf ceramic capacitors are required. Then the 18f4550's CLKO pin feed the pic16f877a's CLKI input

this is ok but the configuration bits inside icd2_18f4550_boot.hex and icd2_16f877a_boot.hex make me a bit confused... 16f877a oscillator is set to HS and 18f4550 oscillator is set to EC+clockout

is this right?

Are you asking this because your Potyo2 is not working, or are you just curious?

It's ok :

The 20MHz crystal is working around PIC16F (20MHz =>HS mode).

The PIC16 CLKO output clock signal is then clocking the PIC18. So, PIC18 clock is external : EC...

I was working on my home-build potyo2 icd2;
the problem now is solved... pic failed so I've used a new one
