HI
I'm new to PIC programming.
Using the PICSTART I have, I hooked up the PIC , first I just want to check if it make difference in the direction of placing the PIC ? if so, in which direction I should put it? I assumed that I should make pin No. 1 upward not downward , is that correct?

second , I do import the hex file. and the message is Loaded
but when I read the content of the PIC from Program Memory it doesn't show the same content of my hex file ?

Third, I tried to erase the flash, but when I Check All.. it says that the PIC is not blank !!!

please if someone can help me. urgent

Yes, upwards.

But for help you i need to know wich pic you are programing. If it has window, for programming you have clear it.
