that is suitable for the first data network course for electrical engineering students (4th year).

Is Gallager's Data Network an appropriate choice?

Hi,
I was using Communication Networks(Alberto León-García, Indra Widjaja) for my Data Network Class.

Br,

i think tenenbum is a good book to understan a lot of concepts

- Data communications, computer networks and open systems. Fred Halsall. Addison-Wessley. ISBN 0-201-42293-x . A little outdated, but the basic concepts are still the same.

- Ethernet, the definitive guide. C.E.Spurgeon. O'Reilly. ISBN 1-56592-660-9
All about ethernet.

Hello!

The abovementioned books are all good...

You can also use "Data And Computer Communications" by William Stallings... Now in its 8th edition.

The 5th edition is available in this board

to start read tanenbaum's computer network for more infos check out garcia's communication networks and to see how the formulas and other algorithms works see gallagher's data networks

HI,

Data Communications and Networking 4e · Forouzan

Computer Networks A S Tenenbaum

Yeah.. Great textbooks dude..
Tanenbaum is like a story book...

For proper exam preparation use Forouzan..

But read both.. they're nice ones..

Two books for professional designers on interconnection networks or routers:
1. Interconnection networks: an engineering approach

2. Principles and practices of interconnection networks

Data And Computer Communications by William Stalling
