can any1 comment/ elaborate on BROM?

i was working with REALTEK RTL8019AS ethernet CONTROLLER & cam across this BROM ...
 

BROM???

At a guess you are talking about the boot ROM that some network cards have a socket for?
 

BROM???

BROM Is a abbrevation for Boot ROM.

Boot ROM : A ROM chip added to a network card that allows a system with no local disk drive to access and boot from an operating system residing on the server.
