i got a problem in calculation of PIV of a half wave rectifier having filter capacitor and load resistance. the output average voltage is 15 v with ±1v ripple.
if i consider the diode drop 0.7 v what should be the PIV? please someone help me.....

PIV rating of the diode is given in the datasheet.

PIV "experienced" in your circuit will be equal to the peak of the sine wave.

The diode Vf and PIV are independent parameters.
