How can you use PICs to control componants that are higher then 5volts?
Say i wanted to power a 12v hyper bright LED, using a "HIGH 1" line in picbasic pro?
So i wanted to flash a 12v led using a 16f628? but the output of the chip is only 5v?
how do i power higher voltage componants?
Thanks to anyone who can help with this?
(Is it somthing to do with a seperate battery for the high voltage componants, and a relay on the leg of the chip controling the flow of electricity? -- if so, please could you show me an example?)
Let PIC output drive a common emitter NPN transistor driver, the collector of the transistor connect to your load (LED, relay etc) which powered from higher volltage than +5V.
Each and every picture is worth a thousand words ..
0-to-PIN can be of anything between 0V and 25V, and more, and +V, depending on the BJT rating, can be of up to several hundreds of volts ..
