picclite & pic16f688

hi,

i'm a beginner in microcontroller programming and trying to program a pic16f688 in C with the free software picclite from hi-tech. although i can compile the programs written for 12f675, 16f688 is not recognized by picclite. what should i do to program a pic16f688 in c? could you please give me advices?

i don't have any experience with 16f688 and would need some simple sample programs in C or assembly for a project i have to finish within two weeks.

any help would be greatly appreciated.
