[SOLVED] [PIC18F4520] Power Supply issue

Hello,

Reading the datasheet, it says that the recommended power supply is 5v. However this PIC is going to be connected to a 3v3 FPGA bank, and I am wondering if there is any way to configure the I/O pins to have Vout(max)=3v3 powering the chip with 5v. Is it possible?

PIC can be powered with 3.3V or a voltage dividers can be used on output pins of PIC which connect to FPGA or 3.3V devices or you cam use PIC18LF4520 which is a 3.3V device.
 
Yes but the performance of the chip is lower and sometime is getting crazy...

you power the PIC with 3.3V rail.

Which is the difference btwn PIC18F4520 and PIC18LF4520? In theory both accept the same power range...

Ok i get it. 18LF accept from 2-5v5 and 18F from 4v5-5v5
